Man Enters Elmhurst McDonald's Kitchen, Steals Food: Cops

In another case, a man threatened to stab a woman with a knife, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of retail theft, assault and battery. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Retail theft

  • A 24-year-old Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, man was arrested about 9 p.m. Sunday at McDonald's, 190 E. Butterfield Road, on charges of retail theft and resisting arrest. Police said the man entered the kitchen, grabbed a bag of food and left without paying. He was released.
  • A 38-year-old West Chicago man was arrested shortly before noon Friday on a Lake County Sheriff's Office warrant. He was arrested at Villa Park's Walmart, 900 S. Route 83, which is next to Elmhurst's jurisdiction. An Elmhurst officer was helping Villa Park police conduct surveillance on the man, who was involved in retail thefts, police said. The man was released to Villa Park police.

  • A 32-year-old Wood Dale man was arrested about 2 p.m. Friday at or near KFC restaurant, 872 N. York St., on charges of aggravated assault and disorderly conduct. Police said the man threatened to stab a woman with a knife. He was released.

Battery

  • A 23-year-old Naperville woman was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Sunday near Jewel, 944 S. York St., on charges of battery and marijuana possession. In the same incident, a 22-year-old Country Club Hills woman was arrested on a DUI charge. Police said they responded to a fight. The women were released.

  • A 37-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 2:30 p.m. Thursday on a warrant. He turned himself in at the police station.
