Man Tampered with Electrical Boxes in Elmhurst Parking Lot: Police

He initially gave police a wrong name.

Someone reported he saw a man acting suspicious in a parking lot around 2:50 p.m. Nov. 15 in the 600 block of West Lake Street.

The man was reportedly talking to himself and tampering with electrical boxes that belong to a business, according to Elmhurst police.

Gregory Hunt, 37 of the 4900 block of North Marine Drive in Chicago, initially gave police officers a wrong name and date of birth, police reported.

Hunt showed police what he had done to a phone box — three cords were unplugged — and he also acknowledged he shut off power on the ComEd box, according to police.

He was charged with prowling and disorderly conduct (obstructing identification).
