Man Who Claimed Lost Dog In Elmhurst Arrested: Cops
In another case, a man reported a suspicious incident involving dogs, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a dog at large, a dog bite, a neglect allegation, a domestic disturbance, retail theft and DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Dog at large
- A 34-year-old El Dorado, Arkansas, man was arrested about Sunday on a warrant. He was also cited on a charge of having a dog at large. Police said the man came into the police station to claim a dog that officers found the previous day. He was found to have a DuPage County warrant charging failure to appear in court. He was released.

- A resident in the 200 block of North Indiana Street told police that about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, he heard dogs barking loudly while his dog was in the backyard. The man saw a person at his fence with a Doberman pinscher and a yellow Labrador on leashes. The person yelled at the resident's dog, pulled on the leashes and walked north through the alley. The resident later found two puncture wounds on his dog's cheek.
Neglect allegation
- About 2 a.m. Thursday, a man living at The Grove of Elmhurst nursing home, 127 W. Diversey Ave., told police the home's staff neglected him and would not give him proper care. The staff denied the allegations, saying they have had several issues with the man in the past. The state Department of Public Health was notified.
Domestic disturbance

- Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 3 p.m. Sunday in the 600 block of South York Street. A man told police that his daughters were arguing when a suspect became physical. Officers could not find the suspect. An investigation is pending.
Retail theft
- A 36-year-old Chicago man was arrested Wednesday on a retail theft charge. Police said he stole a pair of shoes late the morning of Oct. 17 at Shoe Carnival, 195 S. Route 83. He turned himself at the police station. He was later released.
- Suspects left without paying for food shortly before noon Friday at Rough Edges Confectionery, 128 W. Park Ave.
DUI
- Tyler G. Yu, 59, of Addison, was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lake Street and Grand Avenue on charges of aggravated DUI, possession of a controlled substance, obstructing a police officer, driving on a revoked license and possession of open alcohol by a driver. Police said he was wanted for fleeing from Elk Grove police. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
- A 20-year-old Bensenville woman was arrested about 9 p.m. Friday at West Avenue and First Street on charges of DUI, unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver, no valid driver's license, driving an uninsured car, use of unsafe tires, transportation of open alcohol by a driver, possession of alcohol bya minor, possession of tobacco by a minor, damage to a city street and damage to city property. She was taken to the police station and then released.
