Police said they discovered the pair after being alerted to a strange odor coming from the apartment.
BELLWOOD, IL — A man and woman were found beaten to death this week in their Bellwood home after officers were called to investigate a bad odor coming from the apartment.
Police entered the home in the 3400 block of Warren Avenue on Wednesday afternoon where they found the decomposing bodies of a 60-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman, officials said.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office ruled both deaths as homicides, noting the pair both died from head injuries consistent with an assault.
