Men Arrested In 3 Elmhurst Road Rage Incidents: Cops
An unincorporated Elmhurst man was accused of displaying a knife, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, retail theft and trespassing. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst arrest log:
Road rage
- A 53-year-old unincorporated Elmhurst man was arrested about 3 p.m. Wednesday at York Street and Butterfield Road on charges of aggravated assault on a public way, possession of jackrocks (a type of weapon) and driving an uninsured car. Police said the man brandished a black knife after a traffic crash. He was released.
- A 78-year-old Villa Park man was arrested about 8:30 a.m. Aug. 4 at York Street and Brush Hill Road on charges of disorderly conduct and failure to yield while turning left. Police said another driver tried to stop the 78-year-old because he thought a crash had occurred. The 78-year-old threatened to fight the other driver. The 78-year-old was released.
- A 53-year-old unincorporated Elmhurst man who lives in the 600 block of Old York Road was arrested about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of South Arlington Avenue on a disorderly conduct charge. The man argued with another driver about cars blocking the traffic and kicked a traffic cone, which struck the other driver on the arm. The suspect was released.
Retail theft

- Maxine A. Ruffetti, 37, of Chicago, and James Athern, 36, of Countryside, were each arrested about 3 p.m. Aug. 4 at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, on two felony counts of retail theft. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Trespassing
- A 38-year-old man, with no town of residence given, was arrested about 6:30 p.m. Aug. 4 at Shell gas station, 218 E. Butterfield Road, on a charge of criminal trespassing to private property. He was released.
- A 38-year-old Joliet woman was arrested about 6 a.m. Wednesday at Interstate 290 and York Street on a charge of criminal trespass to a vehicle. Police said she was driving a stolen car. She was released.
