Naked Man Runs In Elmhurst Traffic: Cops

In another case, spilled food may have drawn a scratching, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a naked man, spilled food, fraud, theft and soliciting without a permit. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Naked man

  • A naked man was running in traffic about 7:30 p.m. Monday near York Street and Roosevelt Road. Police said he was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.

  • A person said a suspect scratched her when she spilled food shortly before noon Tuesday in the 400 block of West Butterfield Road. The suspect denied doing so and promised to speak to the reporting officer later in the week.

Fraud

  • Enline Technologies, 650 W. Grand Ave., reported Tuesday that a customer used a fraudulent credit card to buy two TVs on July 20. A moving company picked up the TVs and took them to an address in Calumet City. The person attempted a second transaction, but the business stopped it.

Theft

  • The mirrors on a 2024 GMC Terrain were stolen about 1 p.m. Tuesday at Al Piemonte Buick, 364 W. Grand Ave. An investigation is pending.
  • A black Nishiki bicycle was stolen between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tuesday outside Starbucks, 164 N. York St.
  • A locked Giant bicycle was stolen between 6:30 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. Wednesday at Pilot Pete's Coffee & Treats, 128 W. First St.

Soliciting without a permit

  • A 54-year-old Chicago man was cited about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Van Auken Street and North End Avenue on a charge of soliciting without a permit.
  • A 27-year-old Naperville man was cited about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of North Larch Avenue on a charge of soliciting without a permit.
