New Elmhurst Restaurant May Be Low-Key
It is replacing an eatery that closed after a dozen years.

ELMHURST, IL – A restaurant vacancy in the pedestrian walkway at 115 W. Schiller Court is expected to be filled.
It is where Nu Crepes, a breakfast restaurant, closed after a dozen years in January.
The new restaurant is Lo Key Restaurant, which will have a cocktail bar, according to city records.

The business owners are listed as Elmhurst residents Salvatore La Spisa, Martin Pawelec and Daniel Sayre.
"Lo Key is designed to be an intimate, speakeasy-style cocktail bar located down the alley and underground at 115 W. Schiller Court," La Spisa said in an email to Patch. "While we’re still finalizing our opening date (about 30 days away), we’ve put a lot of thought into the experience – classic cocktails with a modern twist, a moody and elegant interior, and a food menu that pairs beautifully with a night out on the town."

In a December social media post, the Martin family owners of Nu Crepes announced the coming closure.
"We think that we were successful in delivering the same consistency of our premium, yet affordable product since 2012," they said. "However, markets and expenses have changed considerably over time - more so recently."
