New York High Baseball Coach Named

He is a York graduate and the son of an ex-Major League pitcher.

ELMHURST, IL – York High School announced Thursday it has a new baseball coach.

The coach, River Pitlock, is a York High School graduate, distinguishing himself as a three-year varsity shortstop, third baseman and pitcher, according to a school news release.

His talent earned him a four-year pitching scholarship at Butler University, the release said.

Pitlock has been an assistant baseball coach at York for the last three seasons. He was credited with playing an instrumental role in the program's success. That includes multiple postseason appearances, earning three regional and sectional titles in a row as well as Super-Sectional and top state finishes.

He is the son of former Major League pitcher Skip Pitlock.

River Pitlock replaces Dave Kalal, who was recently inducted into the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
