Obituary: Ophelia L. Morales, 85, Longtime Elmhurst Resident
Visitation is Wednesday, funeral Mass is Thursday in Elmhurst.

Ophelia L. Morales (nee Chavez), 85, passed away unexpectedly. She was a longtime resident of Elmhurst.
Mrs. Morales was preceded in death by her husband, Juan.
She was the loving mother of Lenore Lykins, Juanita Morales, Delores (Garry) Milem, Kathy (Kirk) Kerndl and Frank (Patty) and Johnny Morales; proud grandmother of Erik, Jennifer and Christopher Lykins, Jason, Nicole and Justin Milem, Jenna, Kevin and Angela Kerndl, Christina, Maria and Lia Morales and Nicholas Morales; great-grandmother of six; dear sister of Tony (Kay), Joe (the late Karen) and Albert (Debbie) Chavez, Lupe (the late Bob) Medina, Rosie (the late Norman) Lucas and Carmen (Don) Hodge and the late Mary (Melvin) Pruss and Connie (Richard) Cantu; aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Ophelia was a devoted and cherished wife, mother and grandmother who loved all those she knew. Nothing was more important to her than the health and happiness of her family. She will be forever missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 S. York Road, Elmhurst. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, May 16, at Visitation Catholic Church, 779 S. York Road, Elmhurst. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Hillside.
