Wallace P. "Wally" Martina, 75, formerly of Elmhurst, passed away Thursday, May 9, at his home in Newburgh, Ind. He was born January 28, 1938, in Isabella, Penn., to Joseph and Rose Angelina (Bozek) Martina.
Wally was a wonderful husband, father, and Papoo, who loved his family and enjoyed life. He was proud to serve in the United States Marine Corps.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Theresa Jones, in 2008.
Wally is survived by his wife of 36 years, Evelyn; his children, Cheryl Gile, Karin (Jeffrey) Smith, Jeffery Martina; his grandchildren, Amanda, Samantha, Eric, Aaron, Taylor, Carolyn and Adam; and his sister, Joyce (Richard) Sievert.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 14, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 625 Frame Road, in Newburgh. Father Attila Frohlich will officiate. Friends may visit 9 a.m. to Mass time at the church.
