O'Hare Flights See Delays, Cancellations Wednesday for Wind

Some flights arriving at Chicago O’Hare International Airport on Wednesday have had an average delay of an hour because of strong winds.
Departing flights might also be effected by the arrival delays, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
About 582 flights had been delayed through O’Hare by midday Wednesday, Flight Aware reported, and 277 flights had been canceled.

Winds caused O’Hare’s five east-to-west runways to close, according to the Chicago Tribune, leaving only two runways open for arriving planes.

No flights through Chicago Midway International Airport had been canceled as of 1 p.m. Wednesday, and 37 flights had been delayed, Flight Aware reported.
