On Tap for Tuesday: Elmhurst Groupons, Museum Fun, Health Workshop

While the hot-flash workshop may not be everybody's Tuesday cup of tea, a great deal at The Hub on a 70-degree day is a sure recipe for fun.

Happy Tuesday, everyone. Here are a few Elmhurst-centric things to make note of today, Tuesday, July 23.

Weather

Monday didn't provide much of a cool down from our recent heat wave, with temperatures reaching 90—again. But the National Weather Service is predicting a much cooler and more pleasant day on July 23. Look for a high only in the mid-70s under partly cloudy skies with virtually no chance of rain

Rock 'n' Roll Kid Crafts

Elmhurst Historical Museum is all about rock 'n' roll these days, and its Summer Fun and Games program is like music to the ears of parents whose kids are suffering from creeping summer boredom. Kids ages 4-12 can drop in at the museum's education center, just south of the Glos Mansion, at 120 E. Park Ave. Every week, it's a different rock 'n' roll-themed activity. This week, kids will be VIPs of the summer concert scene when they create an authentic-looking backstage pass. The program meets from 1 to 3 p.m. and costs $2. Reservations are not required. While you're there, be sure to check out the exhibit, Shutter to Think: The Rock 'n' Roll Lens of Paul Natkin. More information here.
