Silverado, which opened in Elmhurst in the 1980s, closed in fall 2022.

In July 2022, city officials said at a ward meeting that the Silverado property was under contract with a buyer. The buyer was in discussions with the city about housing on the property.

The unidentified buyer had not submitted anything to start the zoning process, officials said at the time.

According to DuPage County records, Silverado Spring LLC is the taxpayer for the property.
