Pro-lifers will take to the streets over the next coming weeks with graphic photos of aborted fetuses.

The Pro-Life Action League says the reason for the photos is to show “the truth about abortion and what it does to unborn children.”

“When we show the victims, abortion comes front-and-center into a community and this gets people talking about it,” said Pro-Life Action League Executive Director Eric Scheidler in a news release. “Precisely because abortion is so astoundingly destructive — and has touched so very many lives — nobody wants to talk about it. That silence must be broken, and that’s why we continue to jump start these conversations.”

The Face the Truth Tour always meets with some opposition, even from those promoting social justice, Scheidler said.

Social justice “requires that we face squarely the brutality being done, with the full sanction of law, to more than 3,000 unborn children in our country every single day,” according to Scheidler.

However, this is the point the group is trying to make. While he admits the photos are shocking, Scheidler said that the goal is not to offend, but rather to raise awareness and change attitudes.

“The Face the Truth Tour allows people to confront the horrible injustice of abortion with their own eyes,” he said. “And when they do, they are more likely to take action to prevent that injustice, even if they resent having to see it.”
