In February, Elmhurst released a list of commercial projects in review. It indicated that Parlor Pizza, which has three locations in Chicago, was being planned for the Silverado site.

The city has since updated its information, saying the general plan is a restaurant.

On May 9, the Spring Road Business Association posted a photo on Facebook of the beginning of the project.

"Sometimes it takes time to start – new development coming to Spring Road," the association wrote.

Commenters asked what was coming, but the group did not say.

Silverado, which opened in Elmhurst in the 1980s, closed in fall 2022.
