Scammer Asked for iTunes Gift Cards to Get Man Out of Jail
The scammer called and asked for $4,000 and then $6,000 in gift cards.

A woman received a call from a man who claimed he could get her grandson out of jail if she sent him $4,000 in iTunes gift cards.
The woman followed instructions around Oct. 23 to send the gift cards, and the scammer asked for $6,000 more to get the charges reduced, according to Elmhurst police.
A cashier at Jewel Osco stopped the woman from buying the additional cards and told her it was a scam.
