ELMHURST, IL – Bolingbrook High School's principal repeatedly asked Elmhurst officers to "please help me" during his drunken-driving arrest in December.

Principal Jason Pascavage changed his story about whether he had been drinking. And he referred to the officer several times as "dude."

A month ago, Pascavage, 46, who lives in an unincorporated area south of Elmhurst, pleaded guilty to DUI.

Patch reported on Pascavage's arrest in December. On Monday, a 24-minute video of Pascavage's arrest, obtained from Elmhurst police, was posted on the "Allegedly Illinois" YouTube channel.

The arrest occurred around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17. School was scheduled for later in the morning.

An officer said he stopped Pascavage, who lives on Concord Street, because he wasn't staying in his lane.

The officer asked Pascavage whether he had anything to drink, saying, "Obviously, you're slurring your speech." Pascavage denied he had anything, saying "zero" repeatedly.

Throughout the stop, Pascavage told the officer more than two dozen times that he lived down the street.

"C'mon, dude, can you please help me?" Pascavage pleaded.

"Help you out with what?" the officer asked. "I just want you to get you on your way."

Pascavage then said, "I'm the principal of the high school. I literally live right there."

When the officer asked which high school, Pascavage replied, "Bolingbrook."

Under questioning, Pascavage said he had been at a bar for a birthday celebration with his friend, Dave, whom he said he took home to Lombard afterward. He said he went to a bar called Castaways Beach Club in Chicago.

When Pascavage denied having any drinks, the officer asked, "So why do I smell alcohol on you?"

The principal blamed Dave.

"So you had one drink with Dave, right?" the officer asked.

"Right," Pascavage answered.

Asked what type of beverage, the principal said he had a Miller Lite.

He was then asked to get out of his car. He failed both the heel-to-toe and one-leg stand tests, stumbling in the latter.

Pascavage said the tests were "super hard" and that he was trying.

When the officer asked whether Pascavage would take a breath test, the principal declined.

"Based on my observations, it seems like you had more than one beer," the officer said. "Do you think you should have been driving tonight?"

"Please help me," Pascavage said.

Then he asserted he had zero to drink.

"Before, you said one," the officer said.

"I did not say that. I said zero," Pascavage said.

The officer, joined by a colleague, arrested the principal.

"I'm going to try to get you out of here quickly, so you can–," the officer said.

"No, you're not, dude," Pascavage said.

In February, Patch obtained the police report, which stated Pascavage had later argued with officers at the police station. He also refused to leave the booking area, being "belligerent," the report said.

Pascavage has not responded to Patch's messages.

His principal's salary is $214,000.
