The Roosevelt at Salt Creek launched The Roosevelt Gives Back to support local communities.

ELMHURST, IL – Residents at The Roosevelt at Salt Creek Senior Living Community in Elmhurst are busy stuffing backpacks with school supplies as part of the community’s first community outreach program, The Roosevelt Gives Back. The backpacks will be distributed to children and families at the Villa Park Area Early Childhood Collaborative’s Back-to-School Resource Fair at the YMCA on August 3.
The Roosevelt at Salt Creek launched The Roosevelt Gives Back to support local communities. For their first project, residents, many of whom are retired teachers, together with The Roosevelt, raised over $1,100 in donations to purchase school supplies for the Villa Park School System’s Back-to-School Resource Fair for District 45 Early Child Center students and families.
Hundreds of District 45 families are expected to attend the Back-to-School Resource Fair on August 3 at the Tri-Town YMCA in Villa Park. Local families will receive free school physicals and immunizations, and enjoy interactive booths, free lunch, and entertainment. The Villa Park Area Early Childhood Collaborative brings together nonprofit/social service leaders, school district faculty, municipal government staff, and parents to help provide resources and referrals to families with children 0-8 living in the Villa Park, Lombard, and Oakbrook Terrace communities.
