On Tuesday, the school board approved a $532,914 contract with the low bidder, Elk Grove Village-based Troch McNeil Paving Co. The bidding process was highly competitive, with a dozen bidders, according to a district statement. Troch McNeil's bid was nearly $250,000 lower than the engineer's estimate. The district did not release information on the other bidders and their bid amounts in the board's agenda package. Nor did it detail the site work.
