The low bid beat the engineer's estimate by nearly $250,000.

ELMHURST, IL – Site work is planned for York High School and Churchville Middle School this year.

On Tuesday, the school board approved a $532,914 contract with the low bidder, Elk Grove Village-based Troch McNeil Paving Co.

The bidding process was highly competitive, with a dozen bidders, according to a district statement. Troch McNeil's bid was nearly $250,000 lower than the engineer's estimate.
