Southbound York to Close for Construction
A detour will be in place beginning July 7.

Elmhurst, IL — Southbound York Street between Jackson and Van Buren streets will be closed to traffic beginning July 7, weather permitting.
Part of the watermain and a valve at Hale and York streets will be removed and replaced as part of the 2016 Watermain Improvement Project, according to the city of Elmhurst.
The project involves almost 5,000 feet of underground watermain replacement around Elmhurst.

A detour will be in place during work hours July 7 and 8, according to the city. One lane will be open to through traffic at the end of each work day from July 7 to 8 and July 9 to 11 until the project is finished.
