Spilled Food Prompts Elmhurst Nursing Home Battery: Police

In another case, a woman who was pushed in her bedroom went to the hospital, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police responded to cases involving battery, theft, a crypto scam and a suspicious man pulling on a car handle. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Battery

  • A 65-year-old Mount Prospect woman was arrested Wednesday on a charge of battery. Police said the woman scratched another person when food was spilled about noon July 29 at Bella Terrace Elmhurst nursing home, 420 W. Butterfield Road. The woman, who denied the allegation, was released.
  • An Elmhurst woman told police that a man pushed her against the wall in her bedroom, injuring her face, about 8 p.m. Sunday on Elm Creek Drive. She was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, but declined any help from the police.

Stealing from employer

  • A representative of TransChicago Truck Group, 776 N. York St., told police Monday that he believed an employee was stealing truck parts from the warehouse and selling them. An investigation is pending.

Crypto scam

  • A resident in the 900 block of South Parkside Avenue told police Monday that he sent cryptocurrency in November 2023 to a suspect who offered to invest his money. An investigation is pending.

  • A resident in the 200 block of North Maple Avenue told police that he saw a man pulling on a car door and looking inside the car about 9 p.m. Monday. Officers could not find the man. The man was described as black, 6-foot-4, carrying a backpack, and wearing a military hat, green shirt and cargo pants.
