ELMHURST, IL – A student had a hatchet shortly after noon at York High School, local police said. An officer was notified of the 18-year-old student and found him, retrieving the weapon, police said. The student was cited on a disorderly conduct charge and escorted off school grounds, police said. The police department's information referred to the suspect as a student, but his address was listed as Hanover Park, which is not in Elmhurst School District 205. Patch asked the police for clarification.
