Suspicious Man Near Elmhurst School Late At Night: Police

The woman said the man tried to get into her parked car, according to a report.

ELMHURST, IL – A woman told Elmhurst police that a man ran toward her parked car early Saturday morning near Edison Elementary School.

The man pulled on the door handle and then ran away, police said. The incident, which the woman reported two days later, occurred shortly after midnight at the school, 246 S. Fair Ave.

Police later determined it was the same man who was running away from officers at the time.

The 18-year-old man, who lives in the 800 block of South Chatham Avenue in Elmhurst, was arrested on charges of obstructing justice, prowling, possession of tobacco by a minor and possession of alcohol by a minor, police said.

Police said the man's illegal activities were at the school.
