ELMHURST, IL – A few York High School students won't have to walk far from their cars to class next year.

Last month, participants in an online auction spent thousands of dollars on four "premium" parking spots for York High School students.

The winning bids ranged from $5,100 to $6,100, according to the auction website. It was a fundraiser for the York Athletic Boosters.

Each spot will be registered to one family and their family car, the website said. No spot may be shared by multiple families.

Also, the boosters auctioned off two York High graduation packages for the May 18 event. The package includes six reserved seats and one VIP parking pass. This replaces the standard of four seats given to each graduate.

Last year, Foundation 205 held an online fundraiser for three York parking spots. Each generated $15,000, for a total of $45,000.
