Towing Company Hired to Move Stolen Equipment
The tow operator became suspicious that the equipment he was hired to move had been stolen.

Someone contacted a towing company Nov. 7 to move a yellow Caterpillar skid-steer from a parking lot in the 200 block of East Butterfield Road.
The tow operator became suspicious that the skid-steer he was being hired to move was a stolen piece of equipment, according to Elmhurst police.
The operator contacted his office, which got in touch with police. The person requesting the tow left the scene, leaving the skid-steer, police reported.

Police determined that the equipment had been taken from the Elmhurst Presbyterian Church construction site and then abandoned in the parking lot.
