Unconscious Duo At Elmhurst Restaurant: Cops
In another case, a man was arrested on weapons charges on Lake Street, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving an unconscious duo at a restaurant, weapons violations, a domestic disturbance, an assault, burglary, fraud, theft and DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Unconscious
- Officers and medics responded about 6 p.m. Saturday to an unconscious man and woman inside McDonald's, 190 E. Butterfield Road. They were taken to the hospital.

- Alberto Galvez, 28, of Addison, was arrested about 3:30 a.m. Thursday in the 400 block of East Lake Street on charges of possession of a firearm by a felony, aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon, criminal property damage, resisting a police officer, unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver, transportation of open alcohol and driving an uninsured car. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Domestic disturbance
- Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the 700 block of York Street. A woman said another person knocked a phone out of her hand during an argument. The suspect denied any physical contact. No arrests were made because of conflicting statements and a lack of visible injuries.
Assault

- A 44-year-old Villa Park man was arrested about 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the 700 block of St. Charles Road on charges of assault and disorderly conduct. Police said the man threatened another man during an argument. He was released.
Burglary
- Bennie Lewis, 64, of Chicago, was arrested about 7 p.m. Saturday at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, on charges of burglary, retail and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. In the same incident, a 37-year-old woman, with no town of residence listed, was arrested on a warrant and charges of attempted retail theft and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Fraud
- A resident in the 600 block of North Emroy Avenue told police Friday about sending money through Zelle to someone on Facebook Marketplace. Afterward, the resident messaged the seller, who said she had not listed any items and that her Facebook account had been hacked.
- Two people conducted fraudulent merchandise returns about late Wednesday night at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83. They left the store with merchandise that they did not pay for. An investigation is pending.
Drunk
- Officers were told about a drunk man and woman about 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Shell gas station, 218 E. Butterfield Road. They were given no-trespass notices and taken to Elmhurst Hospital. The man was cited on charges of possessing liquor in public and befouling property.
Theft
- A locked boy's bicycle was stolen between 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Friday from the bike rack at York Theatre, 150 N. York St.
DUI
- A 24-year-old Woodridge man was arrested about 4 a.m. Saturday at North Avenue and Route 83 on charges of DUI, driving with a suspended license, driving an uninsured car and driving on the wrong side of the road. Police said they received a report of a driver asleep behind the wheel. He was taken to the police station and then released.
- A 38-year-old Wood Dale resident was arrested about 4:30 a.m. Saturday at Lake Street and Walnut Avenue on charges of DUI, driving an uninsured car, stopping in the roadway and possession of marijuana by a driver. The resident was released.
- A 29-year-old Thornton man was arrested about 5 a.m. Sunday at Route 83 and Butterfield Road on charges of DUI, speeding, disobeying a traffic light, tinted windows and transportation of alcohol.
