Villa Park Chase Suspect Found In Dumpster: Police
The driver reached speeds of 118 mph and came to a stop after officers deployed tire deflation devices, authorities said.
VILLA PARK, IL – A man who led police on a chase that reached speeds of 118 mph was found in a dumpster after officers' tire deflation devices worked, authorities said.
Louis Robinson, 30, of Chicago, was arrested on two counts of aggravated fleeing and eluding an officer, police said.
Late Tuesday morning, Villa Park police were told about a black 2016 Kia Optima that was reported stolen in Kenosha, Wisconsin, according to a news release from DuPage County prosecutors. An officer found the car at North and Joyce avenues and activated his emergency lights and siren.

Instead of stopping, Robinson sped away east on North, exceeding 100 mph and running three red lights, including at North and York Street in Elmhurst, police said.
Robinson entered eastbound Interstate 290, but came to a stop after running over tire deflation devices known as "stop sticks" that officers deployed. He ran away, but was found 20 minutes later in a dumpster in the 500 block of Darmstadt Road in Hillside, police said.

A DuPage County judge ordered Robinson to stay in jail until his trial.
