The chain is testing breakfast options for a limited time at five locations.

ELMHURST, IL – Breakfast is coming to five Portillo's Chicago area locations, including Elmhurst.

Starting Tuesday, the chain will test breakfast for a limited time this summer, according to a news release. The hours are set for 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Now, the Elmhurst restaurant, 155 Route 83, opens at 10 a.m.

The offerings will include a lineup of egg sandwiches with a Portillo’s twist, a chocolate cake donut collaboration with Stan’s Donuts, locally roasted coffee from Metropolis Coffee, and even the brand’s Italian Beef — now breakfast-approved, the release said.

The other locations with breakfast are in Tinley Park, Shorewood and Niles and at 520 W. Taylor St. in Chicago.

Oak Brook-based Portillo's has been in operation for 62 years.
