SWAT Involved In Elmhurst Man's Arrest At Home: Cops
The man faces domestic battery and weapons charges, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – A SWAT team joined the effort to arrest an Elmhurst man early Friday morning at his house, police said.
Ronald J. McLaughlin, 50, who lives in the 300 block of South Sunnyside Avenue, was wanted on an arrest warrant stemming from a July 18 incident alleging domestic violence and weapons violations, police said in a news release.
Over the last week, McLaughlin refused several requests to turn himself in after police let him know about the arrest warrant, police said.

About 6 a.m. Friday, a DuPage County SWAT team and Elmhurst police conducted the safe arrest of McLaughlin, the news release said.
Nearby streets, including St. Charles Road, were closed, and neighbors were asked to stay indoors. The operation ended about 7:30 a.m.

Officers said they found a handgun and ammunition on July 18, while they discovered a rifle and ammunition Friday.
McLaughlin faces one count of domestic battery, two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm without a firearm owner's identification and two counts of unlawful possession of ammunition without a FOID card, police said.
