What It Cost To Reinstall York Scoreboard
The school took down the old board before the city approved the new one.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst School District 205 spent an extra $5,400 because it installed a new scoreboard at York High School before the city approved it.
Through a public records request, Patch obtained the invoice from Forest Park-based Sievert Electric.
During a July school board meeting, member Jim Collins asked officials for the "back-of-the-envelope" guess for reinstalling the old scoreboard. He was told no estimate was available at that point.

In March, the board approved buying a $259,000 15-by-25-foot video board. But Elmhurst's zoning board did not approve the equipment as soon as school officials expected. So the district took down the new board and reinstalled the old one.
On Sept. 3, the City Council approved the scoreboard, which followed the first football game.

At an August board meeting, a board member read a statement criticizing the city's handling of the scoreboard request.
