Woman Falsely Reports Elmhurst Hit-And-Run: Cops

Police said they received a report of a pedestrian being hit near a restaurant.

ELMHURST, IL – A New York woman was arrested last week on a charge of disorderly conduct because she filed a false police report, authorities said.

The 25-year-old woman, who lives in the Rochester, N.Y., suburb of Webster, was released.

Police said they received a report of a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian. But surveillance footage showed that the woman got out of her car and lunged toward the other car, police said.

The incident occurred about 7:30 p.m. Thursday near Panera, 108 E. North Ave., police said.
