ELMHURST, IL – York Dukes girls cross country team began their 2025 campaign today with a victory at Camera Park in Glendale Heights, squaring off against rival Glenbard West.

Head coach Lauren DeAngelis, alongside assistant coaches Jimmy Kolb and Kelly Leonard, leads a program that has become a powerhouse in Illinois Class 3A. Over the past four seasons, York has finished no lower than runner-up at the state meet—claiming state championship in 2021 and 2023 and earning runner-up honors in 2022 and 2024.

With that tradition of excellence, expectations are once again high as the Dukes set their sights on another deep postseason run. The team is focused on steady improvement throughout the season while keeping the ultimate goal in mind: competing for a state title in November.
