Evanston Police Cite 188, Arrest 7 During Holiday Season

During the holiday enforcement period, seven people were arrested, and 188 were cited for various traffic violations.

EVANSTON, IL — The Evanston Police Department cited 137 people during the recent holiday season traffic safety campaign period that lasted from Dec. 12 through Jan 5.

During the time period, police arrested five people for traffic violations, one for impaired driving and one for having a warrant.

“We can’t stress it enough: impaired driving is a deadly gamble, no matter where you live,” said Traffic Sergeant Gil Levy. “Whether it’s alcohol, cannabis or any other drug, driving impaired is illegal, irresponsible and puts lives at risk — yours, your passengers’ and everyone else’s on the road. That’s why we do this.”
