Evergreen Park Schools Announce Closures, E-Learning: UPDATED 1x

School districts are starting to announce closings due to a cold weather advisory that has plunged the Chicago region into the first deep freeze of 2025.

Meteorologists predict wind chills of 20 to 25 below will persist through Wednesday, with the coldest conditions late Monday into Tuesday.

The following schools in Evergreen Park have declared Tuesday, Jan. 21, including:

• Evergreen Park Community High School Dist. 231 - closed, e-learning
• Evergreen Park ESD 124 (Central, Southeast, Southwest, Northeast and Northwest schools) - closed, e-learning
• Saint Xavier University (Chicago) - e-learning, work at home
