Little Blackhawks Hockey Camp Teaches Skating Skills, Fundamentals To Kids, Ages 4 to 9

The Little Blackhawks hockey camp for kids ages 4-9 at the Daniel V. Capuano Ice Rink at Yukich Fields, Saturdays, Jan. 3 to Feb. 21.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — The Evergreen Park Recreation Department is bringing back the Little Blackhawks Hockey Camp for 4 to 9-year-olds at Daniel V. Capuano Ice Rink at Yukich Fields, 89th Street and Kedzie Avenue, Saturdays, Jan. 3 through Feb. 21.

The “Little Blackhawks” is a hockey camp for younger kids interested in how to play hockey and other basic skills. Instruction focuses on skating and other fundamentals of the game. The program will run on Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. starting Jan. 4. Kids need not be Evergreen Park residents to participate.

The cost of the camp is $298 – but campers get a FULL set of equipment from head to toe, including stick, skates, helmet, pads and an equipment bag to carry it all in. In addition to eight weeks of instruction, campers will receive a discounted ticket to a Blackhawks 2025-2026 home game.

“It's an insane value for the price,” says Mike Huguelet, who runs the program and manages the Capuano ice rink.
