Back To School: Frankfort 2021-22 School Calendar

FRANKFORT, IL — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Frankfort, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in Frankfort School District 157-C, Summit Hill School District 161 and Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210.

The first day of school for most students in Frankfort is Aug. 25.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point. A mix of in-person, virtual and hybrid learning is still possible in Frankfort.

The latest mask guidelines for Frankfort School District 157-C was posted to its website July 12. It states: "The FSD 157-C administrative team is reviewing the guidance and its implications on our schools for the 2021-2022 school year. In addition, we anticipate further clarifications and potential adjustments from IDPH and the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) in the coming days. We will continue to prepare to open our schools and assess all options for the coming year while being communicative with our families and staff as we work to finalize plans."

The latest mask guidelines for Summit Hill School District 161 have not been determined as of press time. The district plans to make a determination at its Aug. 11 board meeting. Patch will update this article with the latest information as soon as it is available.

The latest mask policy for D210 was posted to its website July 30. It states: "The CDC recommends that masks be worn by all individuals (age 2 and older) who are not fully vaccinated. Lincoln-Way District 210 is supportive of an individual who continues to wear a face mask in any setting. No assumptions or judgement will be made against those individuals who are vaccine eligible, but continue to wear a mask."
