Change at the Helm for Frankfort Township Republicans
Cory Singer replaces Ed Ronkowski as the chairperson for the Frankfort Township Republicans.
Mokena's Ed Ronkowski gave up his position of chair of the Frankfort Township Republican organization on March 15. Cory Singer, 40, of Frankfort, accepted the position, beginning March 26.
Ronkowski, who served as Frankfort Township Republican chair for four years, said time demands forced a decision to step away from leadership in the township. He maintains his role as chair for the Will County Republicans. A retired attorney, Ronkowski said the volunteer position in Frankfort Township was too time-consuming. He was spending between four and eight hours a day in the job. Now he has more time to dedicate to the role of chair for the Will County Republicans. Ronkowski has headed the County Republican team for the last two years.
Singer, who lost a bid for Will County executive in November, said he is looking forward to helping the Frankfort Township Republican Team achieve its goals. The former Will County Board member and president of the Will County Forest Preserve District, Singer said, "this is a good opportunity to work with our Republican team …to communicate how important it is support lower taxes and responsible government in Frankfort Township and Will County."

Responsible government, he said, means tending to the needs of those in need in the community, especially troubled teens, seniors on a fixed income and people having a hard time economically.
In the role for less than a week, Singer said, "my goal is to work with our local party and put together a structure where we can have as many people as possible participating in our local party and local elections."
