Cheerleading Camp For Frankfort Kids Starts In August

There are programs for kids aged 4 to 6, 7 to 9 and 10 to 14.

FRANKFORT, IL — Ignite Cheerleading is offering Wednesday classes starting August for kids aged between 4 and 14.

Athletes attending the classes will learn level appropriate skills like cheers, dance, jumps, motions and some beginner stunts and end the 15-week training course with an optional in-house competition between their locations.

The classes, every Wednesday for 55 minutes, start Aug. 21.

Here's how they're breaking them down:

  • Heat Division: 4 to 6 years
    • 5:45 to 6:40 p.m.
  • Flame Division: 7 to 9 years
    • 6:45 to 7:40 p.m.
  • Ignite Division: 10 to 14 years
    • 7:45 to 8:40 p.m.

Coaches will follow a detailed lesson plan, the company said in a release, ensuring students are learning while having fun. The last class will be a showcase of their skills.

If the student chooses to perform in the in-house competition, there will be a $50 competition fee and $160 uniform fee.

The program costs as low as $165 for each child, but additional siblings cost $125. Nonresidents' cost increases by $5.
