Family-Friendly Tailgate Party In Frankfort Set For Sunday
The free event, to be held at Breidert Green, is hosted by the Frankfort Lions Club.
FRANKFORT, IL — Football season may be over, but that doesn't mean one of the sport's favorite traditions is done. The Frankfort Lions Club is scheduled to host a free Family-Friendly Tailgate and Winter Sports event from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at Breidert Green in downtown Frankfort.
Families are invited to come dressed int their favorite teams' apparel and set up a tailgate party in the parking lot, or just come to participate in the outdoor activities, said Greg Clarke, Frankfort Lions Club member and chairman for the Family-Friendly Tailgate and Winter Sports event.
Alcohol is not allowed at the event, Clarke said. Tailgate setup will begin at 10 a.m.

Other activities planned for the event include: a bonfire, cookies and hot chocolate; sports games; music; the Frankfort Boy Scouts giving demonstrations on how to properly set up a tent; and more, Clarke said.
Prizes will be given for best tailgate setup. Tailgaters must bring their own food, grill, tent, table and chairs. For safety reasons, tents must be tied to a vehicle or tied down using 20-pound to 25-pound weights.
