Frankfort Police Host Run, Walk And Wheel 5k

FRANKFORT, IL — To support Special Olympics Illinois, the Frankfort Police Department will host an all-abilities 5k on May 10 at Breidert Green in Frankfort.

This will be the department's first "run, walk and wheel 5k," the department said.

You can register online for the race, which will start at 9 a.m. on May 10. There will be age group award categories; and you must be pre-registered by April 10 to be guaranteed a race shirt, according to event organizers.

Special Olympics Illinois is the birthplace of the global Special Olympics movement, according to event organizers. The first-ever games were held at Soldier Field in 1968.
