Frankfort's Trunk Or Treat Lets Kids Get Jump On Halloween

The annual E.F. Bucko Costume Parade will kick off the free weekend event downtown.

FRANKFORT, IL — Kids and parents can get the jump on showing off their costumes and collecting candy as part of the Frankfort Police Department's Trunk or Treat event this weekend. Village businesses, churches and other organizations will hand out candy to trick-or-treaters at their Halloween-decorated trunks in the Breidert Green parking lot Saturday.

The free Halloween event will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Breidert Green lot at Kansas and Oak streets in downtown Frankfort. The police department's annual E.F. Bucko Costume Parade will start the festivities before kids begin gathering their sweet, sweet loot.

The village also will have traditional Halloween trick-or-treating hours from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31.
