Keep Holiday Deliveries, Packages Safe This Season: Frankfort Police

FRANKFORT, IL — With the holidays just two weeks away, deliveries of gifts and other packages on the front steps of Frankfort homes are a common sight. Frankfort Police Department said there hasn't been reports in Frankfort recently, but surrounding areas have started to see package thefts.

Police are reminding residents of a few tips to help keep their deliveries safe:

• Install a security camera
• Use package tracking
• Require a signature for delivery
• Invest in package insurance
• Use a lockbox or parcel drop box
• Have packages delivered to your work or a neighbor's house

"Don't forget to call us to report suspicious incidents, persons or vehicles," the department said.
