L-W East Vs. Loyola: When, How To Watch State Football Title Game

Find out how to watch Saturday's championship game from the stands in DeKalb or from your couch at home.

The Lincoln-Way East High School football team is headed north to Northern Illinois University this weekend as the No. 1-ranked Class 8A team in Illinois. And the undefeated Griffins hope to leave DeKalb with two things Saturday: a victory and the school's first football title in more than a decade.

L-W East, which has made the playoffs since becoming a four-year high school in 2001, will face Wilmette's Loyola Academy (12-1) on Saturday at Huskie Stadium. The last time the Griffins played in a state championship football game was in 2012, when they lost to Glenbard West, 10-8, in the Class 7A final.

The only other year L-W East made it to the title game was in 2005. That squad beat Maine South in a double-overtime, 30-24 victory.
