New Lenox Man Dies After Frankfort Crash: Coroner

The crash happened Wednesday on Wolf Road in Frankfort, the coroner's office said.

FRANKFORT, IL — A New Lenox man has died after a crash in Frankfort on Wednesday, according to the Will County Coroner's Office.

Leonard Hawrysio, 65, was pronounced dead at 11 p.m. at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox after a motor vehicle crash that happened on Wolf Road in Frankfort, the coroner's office said.

Frankfort Police told Patch that officers arrived with Frankfort Fire Protection District personnel and found a single vehicle that had struck multiple fire hydrants and a tree in the 21600 block of Wolf Road. Hawrysio was found unresponsive at the scene, and taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The Frankfort Police Department activated the Lincoln-Way Area Crash Team to assist with the investigation. The incident remains under investigation, police said.
