Registration Open For Scary At The Prairie 5K
The race will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 19, at Prairie Park in downtown Frankfort.

FRANKFORT, IL — It may only be August, but the Village of Frankfort already has Halloween on the mind, with registration now open for the Scary at the Prairie 5K costume run and spooky sprints.
The race will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 19, at Prairie Park in downtown Frankfort.
The third annual event will include a 5K course, a 1-mile fun run for kids 10 and under, and a 100-yard dash for kids five and under. There is a costume contest, and Halloween-themed photo opportunities.

There will also be face painting, balloon artists, stilt walkers and a DJ, according to the Village.
“Scary at the Prairie is more than just a race; it’s a Halloween celebration for the whole family,” said Mayor Keith Ogle. “We’re excited to see everyone’s wildly creative costumes and enjoy a whimsical day filled with laughter and community spirit.”
