Auditions Open For Playhouse 38 Fall Comedy Production
The Geneva Park District's community theater is preparing to stage a production of the comedy "The One Act Play That Goes Wrong."

GENEVA, IL — Playhouse 38 is preparing to stage the comedy "The One Act Play That Goes Wrong," and local adults are invited to audition to participate.
Geneva Park District's community theater, located at 321 Stevens St., is holding auditions at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 28 for the fall production. Anyone 18 years or older is eligible and should prepare a 1-2-minute monologue or be ready to read from the play's script for the audition.
This is the play's synopsis, per the park district: "From Mischief, Broadway masters of comedy, comes the smash hit farce. Welcome to opening night of the Cornley University Drama Society’s newest production, The Murder at Haversham Manor, where things quickly go from bad to disastrous. This 1920s whodunit has everything you never wanted in a show — an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that can’t play dead, and actors who trip over everything (including their lines). Nevertheless, the accident-prone thespians battle against all odds to make it through the 75-minute, one-act production to their final curtain call, with hilarious consequences!"

Carolyn Goldsmith and Alex Simko, who have both worked before at Playhouse 38, will direct the production.
"I'm really excited to be working on a show that has such complex staging," Simko said in a statement. "As someone who loves all things backstage related, I'm thrilled to take on this technical challenge to create something really engaging for audience members."
