Batavia Man Spits In Nurse's Face, Charged: Police

Police say a nurse was providing medical care to him when he became combative, eventually spitting at her.

GENEVA, IL — A Batavia man is facing aggravated battery charges after an incident at Delnor Hospital, according to a Geneva police report. Nicholas Allen, 28, is accused of spitting in the face of a nurse.

Police say they responded to the hospital around 8:15 p.m. on Dec. 11 and arrived to find Allen struggling, being held down by Delnor staff and Batavia police.

The victim, a registered nurse at the hospital, told police Allen became verbally and physically aggressive while she was providing medical care.

"Multiple attempts at deescalation proved unsuccessful in subduing Allen's combative nature," the police report says.

The nurse told police Allen cleared his throat and spit at her face, hitting her left eye.

The next morning, around 7 a.m., Allen was booked and charged with aggravated battery.
