Electronics Recycling Program Resumes in Kane County
The Kane County program includes three drop-off sites

Kane County has resumed its electronics recycling program after a temporary hiatus.
There will be three daily drop-off sites throughout the county, as well as the reopening of the one-day collection events in St. Charles, according to the city of Batavia's website.
A drop-off site opened on Sept. 12 at 517 Fabyan Parkway in Batavia, the site of the Kane County jail. It will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The South Elgin site will open on Sept. 19 at 735 Martin Drive and will be open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.
The third site will reopen on Sept. 26 at the West Dundee public works facility, 900 Angle Tarn. It'll be open 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays.
A one-day collection event will accept donations of electronics and book on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 8 a.m. - noon at 540 S. Randall Road.

There will be a fee for TVs and computer monitors across the board for all drop-off locations and the event. The fee is $25 for screens 20 inches and under, and $35 for larger ones. You can pay in advance online or the fee can be paid on-site with cash or a credit card. See the full list of items that can be recycled in the program here.
Items that will be accepted include printers, cable and satellite receivers, cables and cords, cell phones, PDAs, circuit boards, computers, tablet PCs, computer batteries, digital converter boxes, digital recorders, DVD players, fax machines, hard drives, keyboards, mice, phones, portable digital music players, scanners, small scale servers, VCRs, and video game consoles.
