2 Streets Impacted By Fiber Cable Installation Project In Geneva

One street will be limited to one lane in order for crews to access a manhole to make the fiber connection, officials said.

GENEVA, IL — Two streets in Geneva are impacted Monday morning while AT&T installs underground fiber network cables.

The construction project for State Farm, 1 N. State St., is taking place at the northeast intersection of Route 31 and Route 38, city officials said. The contractor will be opening concrete and excavating in the area to provide enough room for AT&T to install the fiber cables.

Most of the work is occurring along the right-of-way near the sidewalks along both state highways. Eastbound State Street will be limited to one lane just east of the intersection to allow crews to access a manhole to make the fiber connection.
