Galena Cellars Closing Only Suburban Tasting Room In Geneva
Open since 2004, the tasting room, located on Third Street in downtown Geneva, will close for good at the end of the month.

GENEVA, IL — Galena Cellars Tasting Room, located in the heart of Geneva on Third Street, will close permanently at the end of the month.
The Geneva tasting room, open since 2004, is Galena Cellars Vineyard and Winery's first and only suburban tasting room. But COVID-19 impacts are forcing the shop to close, according to a statement from the winery.
"The impact of the pandemic was felt especially hard at our Geneva location," reads the statement. "Thank you to the team, who did an excellent job keeping up with the frequent changes and challenges."

A steadfast business in Geneva, calling 227 S. Third St. home for 18 years, the tasting room will officially close Jan. 31.
"May this not be goodbye, but simply a cheers to the future," owners wrote.

Going forward, winery owners said they would focus on its two Galena locations, rolling out new events and experiences for customers. Fans of the wine can visit the Galena Cellars in downtown Galena, about 2.5 hours from Geneva, at 111 N. Main St., or its vineyard at 4746 N. Ford Road.
"We have new wine aging in the cellar, getting ready to be released throughout the year, and we truly cannot wait to share them with you."
